Kimiko was born and raised in Hawaii before moving to California with her husband. She has a background in Psychology and prior to volunteering at BARK Rescue, she was a college counselor. Kimiko is also a pet parent to a 6-month-old kitten.

Leon C.

Assistant Adoption & Foster Coordinator, Blogger, Event Support

Leon is a senior at Tide Academy and is an aspiring professional dog trainer. He started at BARK Rescue CA in the summer of 2022 as a blogger. He wrote most of the blog posts that you can find on this website. Using his knowledge and research of dog behavior, he also created some of the informational instagram posts that you can find on our Instagram @barkrescue_ca. Leon is now an Assistant Adoption & Foster Coordinator, engaging our adopters once the Adoption Agreement has been signed. You may also see him at some of our adoption events, walking some of the BARK Dogs that are present. His family owns a senior poodle mix that they adopted from the Stockton city shelter as a birthday gift for Leon’s 10th birthday.

Robert C.

Transport Volunteer

Robert has been our loyal transport volunteer ever since BARK had just started pulling dogs in April 2022. Robert started volunteering with us when he and his wife were still living in the Bay Area. Even after they had moved to the central valley area of CA, they still help us with transport of any of our dogs from Central Valley to Bay Area or Bay Area to Tahoe. Bob and his wife are pet parents to a female Taiwanese Mountain dog that they rescued from an abusive home.

Savvy is a senior in American High School. He contributed to some of the posts on BARK Rescue’s instagram account and also creates content for social media accounts of his school’s student organizations. He is part of a family with 4 Shiba Inus!

Tran B.

Vet Coordinator

Tran is currently a student at Santa Clara University, double majoring in Neurology and Bioscience. She is also an aspiring veterinarian due to her passion in animal welfare. At BARK Rescue CA, Tran makes sure that BARK dogs’ vaccines and medical records are up-to-date. She also is our liaison with our veterinary partners and helps contact our veterinary partners for scheduling appointments or questions.

Prior to BARK Rescue, the Thao Cam Vien Saigon Zoo and Botanical Gardens fundraising effort that raises money for the staff and the zoo animals’ food and care during the pandemic. She was also a teacher for the SCU Splash program and introduced high school students to the ethical dilemma of animal testing and specifics about the living conditions of hamsters in laboratory settings. She also contributed to a hamster care advocacy group, writing articles for online hamster care forums, to improve hamster life circumstances.

Allison M.

Allison has always loved animals, especially dogs. She takes care of people’s pets when they go on vacation. She joined BARK Rescue because she wanted to help dogs and cats in need. Her hobbies are playing piano, ice skating, and reading. She looks forward to continuing volunteering and saving pets!

Update end of summer 2022: Unfortunately for us, Allison had to move to China with her family due to her dad’s job at the end of summer 2022. We were sad to see her go, but we really appreciate everything she had done for BARK Rescue!

Andrew T.

Andrew Tam is a part of the social media team at Bark Rescue CA. Growing up around four Shih Tzu dogs, he always had the passion for animal welfare. He is currently pursuing his BA degree in Business Management at SJSU. In his free time, Andrew enjoys growing his business acumen and kickboxing! Andrew is currently finishing up his degree at SJSU.

Research Specialist

Andy is a volunteer at BARK Rescue CA. He is a Taiwanese American who currently lives in San Diego. He currently works in a hybrid role between healthcare and I.T. When not working, he spends his time studying for his MBA at UCLA Anderson and playing ultimate frisbee. Despite not having much recent experience with pets, he is passionate about learning all he can about fostering and adopting. He is currently finishing up his part-time MBA program at UCLA Anderson while continuing to hold his full-time job.
